| Hub | An airport or city in which an airline has a major presence, routing many flights into and out of that city. |
| IATA | International Air Travel Association, the largest of its kind in the world. |
| IATAN | International Airlines Travel Agent Network. Administers the IATAN card, the most widely-accepted form of legitimate travel agent identification. |
| LDW | Loss Damage Waiver. Additional insurance for car rentals, covering theft and vandalism as well as damage from accidents. |
| LSH | Limited Service Hotel. A hotel without a restaurant. |
| LAF | Lowest Available Fare |
| MCT | Minimum Connect Time. The shortest amount of time needed to transfer between flights. |
| MAP | Modified American Plan. Meal plan that includes two daily meals, usually breakfast and dinner. |
| NF/NR | Net Fare/Net Rate, referring to the fare that is offered after commission(s) and/or service fee(s) have been applied. |
| NR | Non-Refundable |
| NT | Non-Transferable. An air ticket that cannot be used by anyone else. |
| PFC | Passenger Facility Charge. A fee for the use of an airport facility. |
| PNR | Passenger Name Record. The official name of one's reservation in a computer reservation system (CRS). |
| PtP | Point-to-Point, referring to a fare between two points of travel. |
| PF | Published Fares. Rates offered directly by the airlines. They tend to be the highest rates on offer (which is one of the reasons why it’s often helpful to know a travel agent). |
| REF | Red-Eye Flight. Overnight flight arriving early the next morning. |
| SNS | Saturday Night Stay. Most airlines require you include one Saturday night stay on your itinerary in order to obtain the lowest fare. |
